The Window Shop, A Newfoundland-owned and operated business was started nine years ago, with most of its employees coming from the Fortune Bay area.
Shortly after the business expanded to 860 Topsail Road in a small 900-square-foot office with just one salesperson. Eventually, the business grew and moved to a 2000-square-foot space at 835 Topsail Road. A further expansion saw The Window Shop add another store in the Churchill Square, but management felt the best move would be to construct its own building to have everything under one roof.
The major focus of the business is the residential renovation market, where a customer might want to put a new face on an older place. The Window Shop has done extensive work on heritage properties. The business has the skills to install maintenance-free modern windows, without losing a property's historic look. In the case of these older homes, the energy-conservation level is increased while the heritage is not compromised.
